Weekend in Zürich

sunny 30 °C

So after a busy week of wandering, decided to stay in Zürich over the weekend. During Saturday, kept up with my wandering, around the Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping area of Zürich. Though managed to save my Francs for later, came home empty handed. In the evening I caught up with my friend Christine, she is from Austria but working in Zürich. Christine, her brother Martin and I went out for dinner to a nice Italian restaurant. We hadn't met for four years since my big Europe trip, so it was great to catch up and chat. Later on we met some of her colleagues at a cool bar in the city. It is an open-air bar on an island in the middle of the river. Quite an unusual location, but the weather was just right, so made for a great night!

On Sunday, Christine, Martin and I met up again by the Zürich lake. Could say it was a beach except for the lack of sand, but in any case, we just relaxed in the sun and went swimming a couple of times in the lake as well, was very nice. Later we were joined by some of her colleagues, so it was quite a nice afternoon, mixing with Austrians, Germans, Spanish and French. The others had to leave eventually but I stayed a little longer with the Spanish girl Christina, making the most of the blazing sun at 7pm in the evening.

Later in the evening, met up with Christine again, went for a drink and had a good chat. Tasted the Swiss-made Mojito - as nice as what I am used to! So overall it was a great weekend, nice catching up with Christine as well as meeting some new people, and also enjoying the perfect European summer weather!
